June 2024
Vineyard Updates
The sun is finally shining, and summer has arrived! With the sun, comes brand new growth on our vines, as they begin to flower and develop their bunches.
After a very wet and cold start to 2024, our Vineyard Manager, Oliver Whitfield, brings us updates of how the vineyard is doing so far this year:
June in the vineyard.
After what has felt like one of the longest and wettest winters, it is now starting to feel like summer. The vineyard is well into its growing season with flowering imminent. Imagining 500,000,000 little flowers sounds amazing but these are tiny and you’ll have a job of finding them. This does mean that we want a period of dry weather to get us through this stage as the flowers are extremely delicate and can rot off in wet conditions.
If you’re wandering the vineyard you may spot our team. They’ll be mowing and strimming undervine, tucking in the new growth into the wires, removing unwanted shoots and doing a sun dance.

Very soon, the vineyard will be blanketed with the start of our bunches of grapes, allowing us to produce your favourite bottles of award-winning English Wine!
