Denbies 2022 Vintage!
We hope you have all had a good start to 2024! It has been a great start to the year here at Denbies, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to the estate throughout 2024.
Looking back at last year, Harvest 2023 was once again a record-breaking harvest, producing a total of 525 tonnes of fruit – 188 more tonnes than 2022. Denbies 2023 Vintages will be an absolutely spectacular range, and we are very much looking forward to their release!
2022 Vintages are already here, however, having being released at the end of last year. Amongst the new releases were:
Chardonnay 2022 Bacchus 2022 Pinot Gris 2022 Pinot Noir 2022
Our new Vintage’s also now have a brand-new look! 2023 was the year our varietals had a makeover.

Following our sell-out 2021 vintages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, our new 2022’s are already loved by customers throughout our Online Shop and the Wine & Gift Shop, receiving all round positive feedback, including from John Mobbs at Great British Wines.
‘Chardonnay 2022 – This looks to be another strong release, with ripe peach, apricot and apple, with impressive texture and well-integrated oak.’
‘Pinot Gris 2022 – Pear aromatics with honeysuckle hints, the palate was nicely broad showing lovely ripe fruity flavours and hints of spice, with bright acidity to balance.’
‘Pinot Noir 2022 – Light cherry red in colour, this is a vibrant pinot with cherry and wild raspberry flavours as well as an appealing peppery note. Quite a strong oak influence, I think this will benefit with another year in bottle for the oak to integrate better.’
Wine wasn’t the only tipple to be released throughout 2023 with our Orange Vermouth being released in November.
The vermouth was developed by Andy Kershaw, Denbies Cellar Master, who was awarded ‘Innovation of the Year’ for the Orange Solaris 2021 in Tim Atkin MW England Special Report 2022. The Orange Vermouth as been made in part using the pressings from the award winning Orange Solaris. The result is a vibrant and fresh aromatic vermouth blended over several months with a blend of botanicals and herbs. The success of the Orange Solaris was the inspiration behind the Orange Vermouth, developing the orange style of wine further has culminated in an exciting new product.
