Harvest has begun on the Estate! With our first pick of Solaris grapes taking place 7th September, our vineyard team have just completed harvesting our Ortega plots. This is followed this week by hand picking of the premium Bacchus varietal, for our best-selling Vineyard Select wines. Hand-picking of these grapes is also taking place on the Approach, where the younger vines are situated. Careful lab analysis will tell us how other varieties are ripening and we may plan to start harvesting some of our red grapes next week. Do take a look at our harvest banner on the roundabout by Denbies entrance, showing our harvest volume converted into bottles.
With temperatures still relatively warm and dry in the vineyard, remaining grapes are ripening nicely and forecasts continue for an outstanding 2018 vintage.
Alongside harvest, the winery is busy working tending to our still and sparkling wines. We are delighted to have released our Zig Zag Red earlier this month; a fresh and fruity wine with soft tannins and berry notes.
